Babas Respect for all the religions and Gurus
Dr. Pandit was a friend of Tatyasaheb Noolkar. He came to Shirdi for Baba’s darshan and after the darshan Baba asked him to go to Dadabhat Kelkar. He went to Dadabhat, who welcomed him to his home. In the evening when Dadabhat left for the pooja, Dr.Pandit accompanied him.

After Dadabhat, worshipped Baba Dr. Pandit took the puja plate (until then only Mhalsapathi was allowed to apply sandal paste to Baba’s forehead) containing puja material from Dadabhat and taking sandal paste from it applied and drew a Trpundra on Baba’s forehead. (i.e. three horizontal lines on Baba’s forehead).
Baba did not object and kept silent. All other devotees were disappointed because Baba never allowed this liberty to any of them. Later when Dadabhat asked him, as to why Baba allowed Dr. Pandit this liberty of applying the sandal paste on His forehead. Baba said to all that Dr. Pandit was a devotee of Guru Raghunath Maharaj of Dhopeshwar, known as Kaka Puranik. Baba loved worship of God and Gurus. Dr Pandit saw and felt this Guru in Sai Baba and in that state of mind he applied the sandal paste on His Guru’s(Baba) forehead and Baba could not object. Later on enquiry, they found this to be true.Read the sacred texts.
