A tea stall besides Chawdi

A tea stall besides Chawdi

It may not be much of an experience to many. Had I not asked him his name it would have been a routine morning tea for me too. Early morning on Thursday a walk to Dwarakamai and looking at many devotees waiting for their turn to get in makes one reminisce about how Baba must have sat their waiting for all His devotees.

One amongst the devotees who had the fortune to do Baba’s seva was Abdul Baba whom Baba referred as his crow. (Crow is like a scavenger bird)

He served Baba for thirty years from 1890 to 1918. Later he served the Mahasamadhi for 36 years from 1918 to 1954. Abdul Baba often used to get Baba’s beatings too along with Jog. Baba used to ask him to eat moderately and sleep moderately.

Abdul Baba passed away on 2nd April 1954 in Shirdi. His Samadhi rests in Lendi Baug along with other devotees of Baba.

Coming back to having tea I casually asked the tea stall owner what his name is and he proudly said Salauddin Shaik and he was Abdul Baba’s great grand daughter’s husband. Shakeela bee his wife and great grand daughter of Abdul Baba was sitting at his side with a bright smile on her face and thrilled at being discovered. I was equally delighted as our imagination takes wings when we discover such things. She and her husband not only explained how they were related to Abdul Baba but also reeled out their family tree with ease.

Abdul Baba had one son ---

Baba khan and he had five sons named--
1 Wahed Khan Pathan

2 Ajeej Pathan
3 Abdul Rahman Pathan
4 Raheem Pathan

5 Hameed Pathan.

Shakeela bee is Abdul Rahman Pathan’s daughter.
