The need for an OUTER GURU : Why do saints like SHRI SAI emphasise strongly on GURU WORSHIP thru the Bhakti Marg which means theGURU with form rather than the inner Guru . The Aatma the Gyan Marg comparing both
as the Sita phal & Ram phal .We are so to say totally unprepared to worship the Aatma (the inner Guru ).When we pray do we not pray externally to a form called SAI to relieve us from our meseries & grant our wishes ? That is Sagun Bhakti.
When SHRI SAI passed away in 1918 Damu Anna of Ahmednagar wept and wept so much that SHRI SAI had to personally appear before him in form and console him and that to frequently. Same is the case with other devotees as well.
Could not Damu Anna have relied on his Inner Guru, the Aatma to console him ? The answer is No. Because emotions and sentiments rule the better of us and we thus tied to Sagun bhakti which though slow is the sure path to attain mukti .

Every devotee tries to visualize How Baba looked like. They try to see how Dwarakamai, Chavadi looked like when Baba walked on the soil of Shirdi. Are we able to visit Baba back in his times when we visit Shirdi now?
