Balwant Karnik of Customs Department at Bandra Bombay, was so much inspired by Das Ganu's
SAI kirtans there that he visited Shiridi 1st time in 1911 .SAI's eyes were so powerful that Balwant developoed faith in HIM and though at the 1st meeting no words were spoken , Balwant resolved to visit Shiridi every year. His wife who had also met SAI and was equally devoted passed away in 1928. Just before her final moment, she was fully concious , folded her hands and did namaskar to SAI's portrait and passed away. The SAI's grace ensured her sadgati . Earlier when once Balwant desired to visit Pandharpur with his wife ,he visited Shiridi before that where SHRI SAI took practically the entire money from him as dakshina leaving no balance to visit Pandharpur. Evidently SHRI SAI wanted Balwant to feel that AT THE FEET OF THE SATPURUSHA ARE ALL HOLY TIRTHAS. Finally SAI allowed Balwant to return home with borrowed money.

Every devotee tries to visualize How Baba looked like. They try to see how Dwarakamai, Chavadi looked like when Baba walked on the soil of Shirdi. Are we able to visit Baba back in his times when we visit Shirdi now?
