Shama once had an eye infection causing them to swell with unbearable pain. He approached SHRI SAI & said ,"Deva how can you be callous giving medicines to others but behaving indifferent towards me though my eyes are swollen." SHRI SAI answered, " SHAMYA , DO NOT BABBBLE . STOP TALKING NONSENSE. TAKE 7 GRAINS OF PEPPER, MAKE A SMOOTH PASTE OF IT BY RUBBING ON A SMOOTH STONE & PUT IT IN YOUR EYES. THEN SEE ! YOUR EYES WILL BECOME CRYSTAL CLEAR. COME ON, TAKE THIS
UDI & GO." Shama was annoyed, " Who taught you this medical science ? Asking me to put pepper in my already swollwn eyes ? Do you want me to lose my eyesight ? I haven't seen such a vaidya(doctor) in my life." SHRI SAI calmly replied ," TRY THAT REMEDY FIRST & IF YOUR EYES DO NOT GET WELL, BE FREE TO GET ANGRY WITH ME ! OK ?NOW GO!" Shama tried the medicine that SHRI SAI prescribed & his amazement, his eyes were completely cured.
