JAI SAI
A devotee requested me ( Sanjay Padiya) to provide information on the developments in Shiridi after SHRI SAI's Mahasamadhi particularly during the years 1918 - 1922. Shiridi was then quite desolate. SHRI SAI's Samadhi was given a bath only once a week. Wild yellow flowers were used to decorate the Samadhi. During these 4 years, the maintenance of the Samadhi was at its worst. When HS Dixit visited Shiridi in 1922, he was appalled to see the conditions prevailing in Shiridi & immediately resolved to form a Trust " SHRI SAIBABA SANSTHAN SHIRIDI " with the permission of the Ahmednagar Dist. Court. Abdul bhai was entrusted with the task of maintaining SHRI SAI's Samadhi. It is said that during those years (1918-1922 ) there was hardly any gathering during Aratis & villagers were persuaded to attend the same. Shri SC Gupta, during his first visit to Shiridi in 1960, said the number of people for the Aratis was just 25 even then .
