To gain something , you must lose something is an age old proverb. In the case of SHRI SAI's devotees it is not doubt true . Look at the classic examples of Bhagat Mhalsapathy and Kaka Dixit . Both gave up material comforts for spiritual progress. Mhalsa remained poor all thru his life whereas Dixit gave up his floursing legal practice and settled in Shiridi.Its not that SHRI SAI was harsh towards them. They chose to be with SAI giving up all material attachments. Dixit's finances were low ( there being no income ) and yet he remained steadfast in his devotion. Nothing could tempt him nor even Bhagat Mhalsa the latter having refused outright offers of wealth. So is this the criterion to have blessings of SAI ? Ofcourse not ! To renounce is our option not SAI's . Note well but once was renounce we must not deviate whatever be the hardships. SAI often said " WHATEVER YOU DO , DO IT THROUGHLY ! ELSE DO NOT DO IT."
