RINANUBANDHA : Part 21: Das Ganu Maharaj : Das Ganu Maharaj ( 1868- 1962) alias Ganpatrao D. Sahasrabuddhe had never thought or expected that he would be drawn to Shiridi accompanying Nana Chandorkar. His lover for lewd drama & poems but above all his desire to be promoted as Sub Inspector from an ordinary havaldar was torpedoed by SHRI SAI when HE clearly told, " GANU, YOU HAD BETTER GIVE UP CHEAP VILLAGE TAMASHA AND YOUR POLICE SERVICE ." Das Ganu reluctantly gave up the former but as for the police service, he was not going to do so. When SAI knew that Ganu kept on disobeying HIM, HE decided to adopt a hard attitude towards him. Numerous difficulties befall Ganu one after another before he finally resigned from the Police Service in 1903. SHRI SAI then took responsibility for Das Ganu. Ganu's composition of SAI RAHAM NAJAR KARNA ...' & SHIRIDI MAJHE PANDHARPUR..." was included in Shiridi Aartis.
