History of Shirdi Dwarakamayi
During those days one Gondakar
Patil was owner of land from the neem tree to the boundary of shirdi. The place
were today's Dwarakamayi is situated was earlier a dilapidated three story
building. Where Animals were kept which also Gondkar owned. One pathan from malegaon used to sell sarees at
different villages. Gondkar owned the pathan 12 Rs. In return of which pathan
was given the dilapidated building to stay as he had no place to reside at
shirdi. The depth of Gondkar was defrayed against the house. The pathan stayed
there for several days, cleaned the house fetched water went about his usual
business. One day the pathan went some where never to return again to shirdi.
As the land was given to the
pathan on humanitarian grounds he he never came back a Masjid was erected there
which much later became the dwarakamayi.
