In a letter dated 14/04/1943 to Shri Nanasaheb Kharkar,Secy,SHRI SAI SANSTHAN,SHIRIDI a devotee wrote ," Sir you might have read in SAI SUDHA of Madras that the fire on the Sacred Dhuni of Shiridi was brought down to Ventra Nayada (TN) under istructions from Shri BVN Swami .If everyone takes the fire from Shiridi is it right ? Does this not amount to competition ? " The secretary replied "The matter of taking the fire from the sacred Dhuni without our knowledge notwithstanding, this will in NO way diminish Shiridi's importance though we cannot prevent such wanton acts on the part of outside devotees." It may be mentioned here that during those
days when there were not many devotees visiting Shiridi.the Dhuni was always available for them to take a little fire & also bagful of Udi. Where was thus the question of competition ? Even today, many devotees take a little dust of Shiridi home.Is it not ?

Every devotee tries to visualize How Baba looked like. They try to see how Dwarakamai, Chavadi looked like when Baba walked on the soil of Shirdi. Are we able to visit Baba back in his times when we visit Shirdi now?
