In 1940 Sri Ramanaiah og Gudur was directed by SHRI SAI in a dream that he should build HIS temple at a site north of his residence which actually did not belong to Ramnaiah but to a laborer named Pichivadu. Strangely enough when Pichvadu went to the forest to cut wood , he saw a fakir who told him to hand over his land to Ramanaiah for the construction of SAI temple. When Pichivadu narrated this to Ramanaiah , the latter showed him SAI's portrait seeing which the laborer was convinced it was SAI who met him in the jungle .The moment Pichvadu gifted his land for the SAI TEMPLE, money started puring in for this project & a small temple of 10 feet by 8 feet was built in less than 4 weeks. The portrait of SHRI SAI was contributed by Dr.M Rajagopalachari of Nellore . Sri Narasimha Swamiji , Sri Panini Rao & others attended the opening ceremony. This is the 1st SAI Temple in South India.
