Upasani Maharaj's friend Shri Balgovind attended the all India Sanskrit Parishad conference
at Kashi in 1905 & while returning home, desired to perform Pinda Daan at Gaya for his
ancestors. After the completion of the due rites ,when the Pindas ( rice balls) were immersed
at the confluence of the 3 rivers, Balgovind was surprised & scared to see a pair of hands raised
above the surface of the water & taking the pindas vanished mysteriously below the surface again.
Balgovind was to shocked with disbelief to see this. The time this happened was 11 am to 12 noon
with the sun blazing down on the surface. 7 years later in ( 1912) when Balgovind visited Shiridi,
SHRI SAI asked , " HOW ARE YOU ? AFTER A LONG TIME YOU HAVE COME." When
Balgovind could not understand what SAI meant, the latter said, " REMEMBER, YOU HAD GONE
TO GAYA TO PERFORM YOUR ANCESTRAL RITES & I TOOK THE PINDA BALLS WITH
MY OWN HANDS FROM THE WATER. "
