In December 1912 around Christmas on a bright sunny morning when SHRI SAI returned from the Lendi HE as usual was conversing with HIS devotees in the Masjid when several sparrow on the wall started chirping so loudly that it prompted Shama to ask SHRI SAI its significance. SHRI SAI replied " THESE SPARROWS ONLY IN THEIR PREVIOUS LIVES BUT FATE DEALT THEM A CRUEL BLOW IN THE FORM OF A HUGE SNAKE WHICH CLIMBED UP THE WALL & DEVOURED THESE LITTLE BIRDS.
BUT OWING TO THE MERITS OF THESE BIRDS IN THEIR PREVIOUS LIVES,THE LORD OF DEATH GRANTED THEM REBIRTH AS SPARROW & THAT TO IN SHIRIDI . THE GET TOGETHER OF THESE SPARROW ON THE WALL OF THE MASJID IS GIVING THEM IMMENSE JOY & THUS THEY ARE CHIRPING LOUDLY" How fortunate are these little sparrow that they anjoyed SAI's company & resideon the Masjid walls.The devine lustre of SAI even had its effect on the birds .
