RINANUBANDHA PART 10 : Balasaheb Bhate was a free thinker who believed in " Eat,drink & be merry for tomorrow we die".As an efficient Mamlatdar of Kopergaon from 1904-1909 Balasaheb had not only no belief and faith in SHRI SAI but he even scoffed at his educated friend who met him on their way to Shiridi and described SHRI SAI as a juggler and a mad man.Upon his friends insistence that he 1st see SAI and then from his judgment, Bhate did finally go in 1909. At Shiridi sitting before SAI at the Dwarkamayi, Bhate was powerfully MAGNETISED by SAI's divine powers. Balasaheb stayed for 5 days and on the last day, SHRI SAI covered him with an ochre garment which transformed him totally. He refused to return back and thru Kaka Dixit applied for leave and then finally resigned. Balasaheb also with Upasani Maharaj performed the last rites SHRI SAI after HIS MAHASAMADHI on 15.10.1918.
